Biography / Trivia
Los Angeles born and bred, Danny Elfman began his career as a member of
his brother's vaudeville performance group, "The Mystic Knights of the
Oingo Boingo." The group eventually evolved into the cult rock band
"Oingo Boingo," which led to Elfman's first mainstream film scoring job
on Tim Burton's "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure." Since then, Elfman has
composed the music for some of the most popular films of all time,
including Batman, Spider-Man, and Men in Black.
Elfman's music has been adapted into many games based in whole or in
part on films he's scores, including the Kingdom Hearts franchise and a
series of Nightmare Before Christmas spinoff titles. He recently made
his game scoring debut by writing the main title theme for Peter
Molyneux's Fable.
"Halloween has always been my favorite night of the year. For me,
writing something in the spirit of Halloween is like Mother Teresa
writing on charity and sacrifice. It's just second nature to me."
