Winifred Phillips
Biography / Trivia
Though Winifred Phillips burst onto the interactive media scene with 2005's
God of War, the composer was no stranger to media recordings. Beginning in 1996, Phillips produced, narrated, and scored dozens of "Radio Tales" productions for National Public Radio. Adapting famous novels and short stories into radio productions seems to have led naturally into composing scores for video games based on existing worlds and properties, and Phillips has since been active in that area as well.
Beginning with the award-winning
God of War, Phillips has since provided music for games as diverse as
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,
The Da Vinci Code, and
Shrek the Third. Her work has earned the approval of Charlie director Tim Burton, among others, and Phillips brings an impressive roster of awards to each new project.
- Often works with Winnie Waldron, a close collaborator who acts as producer.
- Owner of Generations Productions LLC, an award-winning music studio and production company.
"I love knowing I've had the chance to entertain people, and its gratifying when they want to make my work a part of their day-to-day lives. I can't ask for a better reward than that."
