Alistair Lindsay worked on Rare titles between 1999 and 2000. During this time, he contributed the music to Jet Force Gemini and sound effects to Donkey Kong 64. He was also a voice actor on Jet Force Germini and Perfect Dark.

Quitting Rare, he was hired by Frontier Developments to create sound effects and music for a number of their titles. Lindsay's most popular works to date, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and its two expansions, were composed under this company. He was given the chance to express his creativity in a wide range of genres.

Since 2005, Lindsay has been a freelancer. He has continued to lead the audio of new Frontier Developments games such as Thrillville and LostWinds. However, he has also created the music for Introversion Software's DEFCON: Everybody Dies and Multiwinia: Survival of the Flattest with Michael Maidment.

Outside the realms of the gaming industry, Al Lindsay is known as a folk rock singer-songwriter. He released his first album titled Songs From Under The Table in January 2007 and has been playing gigs up to today. He also worked as producer, remixer, and composer for TV.
