Biography / Trivia
Fabian Del Priore is a game music composer and arranger based in Frankfurt, Germany. Having taken piano lessons for ten years and collected synthesizers, he became an established demo-scene musician under the alias Rapture. At the age of 16, he impressed veteran game music composer Chris Huelsbeck with a demo tape and was subsequently hired to work for his music production studio. After debuting with 1996's Menateus, he led the award-winning orchestral score to the shooter Extreme Assault and produced sound effects on several subsequent titles. After leaving the company, Del Priore engaged in high-profile collaborations on Worms 2, WarGames, and Viper in addition to further sound effects work.
In 1999, Del Priore and producer Thomas Boecker inspired the Merregnon project together. This three part album series features orchestral music created by various demo-scene musicians to tell an epic yet personal fantasy story. During the project, Del Priore gained experience orchestrating for eminent orchestras such as the Prague Symphony and New York Philharmonic. The CDs have been astounding critical successes noted for its rich compositions and beautifully designed booklets. With such high-profile projects behind him, Del Priore continued to collaborate with major game companies creating scores such as Stealth Combat, Inspector Gadget, and Hotel Giant from a personal studio. He has also been the lead composer of the Cultures series of titles noted for their interactive sound design.
In 2003, Del Priore was appointed lead composer of the music production company Merregnon Studios. This resulted in him arranging various items on the multi-title Symphonic Game Music Concert series that occurred annually at Leipzig from 2003 to 2007. His arrangements were Merregnon II, The Wind Waker, Monkey Island, Turrican, Metal Gear Solid, and Chrono Cross. Later Del Priore's Merregnon music featured on the inspiring school concert series Heroes of Imagination alongside classical pieces. Also on behalf of Merregnon Studios, Del Priore contributed arrangements to the world concert tour PLAY! A Video Game Symphony. His music has also been featured on the Immortal and Revival ST tribute CDs and Chris Huelsbeck's latest album Number Nine.
Since 2006, Del Priore became employed by Germany's leading game music production company Dynamedion. This has resulted in his music being featured in a variety of DS puzzle and lifestyle games such as CrossworDS and Think: Logik Trainer. His music has also been featured in two flash games. Between these projects, Del Priore has engaged in film scoring for the first time and has also featured in two iTunes trance albums. He is currently working on nine more DS projects to be announced. Many hope that the composer will increase his profile with these titles so that he can work on more exciting game projects. Nevertheless, during his 12 years as a game musician, Del Priore has contributed to many impressive achievements, most notably Extreme Assault, Cultures, Merregnon, and the Symphonic Game Music Concert series.
