Out of all composers out there, which would be your favorite(s) and why?

Personally, I have too many and it's hard to select only a few. Plus, my musical tastes are somewhat diverse, going for a little of everything rather than a major dose of a single artist. Here's some I definitely like the style of:
Stéphane Picq The composer behind most classic Cryo soundtracks including Dune, KGB, MegaRace, Lost Eden, and Riverworld. He was able to produce a rich sound for the AdLib cards, and his compositions often reach me on an emotional level. Inspired by the power of emotions, nature, and the essence of life itself, it's no coincidence that I connected with his music. Stéphane touched to electronic, new age / world, and a little of rock music too. His masterpiece is definitely Dune, followed closely by Lost Eden. Sadly, he left the industry 10 years ago.
Spencer Nilsen Rich production, diversity, and interesting compositions are some of the keywords that describes this composer. Head of Sega USA music department during the 90's, his main game projects were for the Sega CD. This was an excellent opportunity for creating music with live instruments (as opposed to sequenced music which was still the standard back then). Ecco the Dolphin, Sonic CD (USA), and Batman Returns are his best works. Similarly to Stéphane Picq, Spencer has also quit the gaming industry more than a decade ago, yet he is still composing for films.
Frank Klepacki (aka Mr. Command & Conquer) When I feel like listening to hard-hitting game tunes, more than often this desire is quenched by putting on Frank's C&C material, and more recently Universe at War, as well as his solo albums. It's punchy, mixing hard rock with electronic and some hip-hop and orchestral snippets. Usually not as melodic as other soundtracks, yet when listening this selection of his work, this isn't what I'm usually looking for in the first place. Frank was also notably behind the Legend of Kyrandia series and the Westwood-published Dune titles.
