Biography

Born in Ontario, Canada, Trevor Morris first leaned into music by learning how to play piano and violin, as well as using his voice, during his youth. He began his career as an audio engineer, producer, and eventually composer for various commercials and TV shows. Moving to Los Angeles in 2001, he has gained considerate experience by working closely with James Newton Howard and later Hans Zimmer. With the latter, he worked on several movies including The Last Samurai, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Ring 2.

With the help of his agent, Trevor established contact with Electronic Arts, which lead him to compose his first video game score in 2006, Need for Speed: Carbon, as well as two other titles published by the same company the following year. He is establishing himself as a game and TV/film composer, having undergoing projects and interest in both media.

“Music can help tell story, be it interactively or traditionally in a unique, abstract and wonderful way. I would hope the user doesn’t notice my music sometimes, but yet feels their pulse rise as they come closer to the edge of a canyon cliff. At the same time, I want them to absorb and experience my music when the time is appropriate in a more immediate way.” -Trevor Morris, M4G Interview (2006)
