Biography

Bjørn Lynne was born in Norway. During the '80s, he started to experient with keyboards and computers, making his first compositions. In 1988, he created the demoscene group "Crusaders" along with a few of friends. Bjørn was the musician, known under the pseudonym "Dr.Awesome", and they went on to create a good amount of Amiga demos. Soon, he began his career in game music as a freelancer, first working on Amiga games like "Drivin' Force", "Brat", and "Project-X". In 1995, the game developer Team17 offered him a full-time job as head of their audio department and Bjørn accepted this opportunity, yet this involved him to move from Norway to England. There, he worked on such titles as "Alien Breed 3D", "X2", and the "Worms" long-lasting series, which became his trademark in the world VGM. Soundtracks for a number of other games developed by other companies were also produced. "Seven Kingdoms" and "Ford Racing" are a couple of examples.

In addition to his implication in game music, Lynne also creates original music released on albums. His first, "Bjørn Lynne Demo-Tape", was released in 1991 and his most recent, "Undercover", came out in 2007. He writes in a diversity of genres, ranging from synth-based electronic to prog-rock to medieval fantasy and also trance. To avoid confusion in his fans and their expectation of his style, he chose to release his trance music under the artist name "Divinorium". Music for films and TV programs is another venue which Bjørn explores. This is done either by creating totally new compositions or by simply licensing pieces from his library.

Bjørn moved back to Norway in 2005 with his wife and daughter. He is currently a freelance musician, working on both his solo musical career and new video games. Additionally, he is the owner of PlasmaDesign, a Plasma TV shop.
